Picture the scene…
You’ve got a big marketing campaign or product launch coming up – something you’ve been preparing for months. You’ve got affiliates with e-mail campaigns already starting to roll, as is your own campaign. You’ve been working overtime on SEO so your site tops the SERPS for your best keywords. Your AdWords campaign is ready to roll. You’re looking forward to a (well deserved) big pay-day.
Half an hour before the launch time, you log–in to your WordPress dashboard to make some final tweaks to the sales page, ready for the launch. You feel nervous and excited at the same time.
But there’s a problem…
As you go to log-in to the WordPress admin area, it flashes up “Incorrect Username or Password”. Puzzled, you try again. Same result. You try to log-in to Cpanel. It won’t let you log-in either.
A rather nasty, sick feeling begins to form at the pit of your stomach. You go to your site’s home page and discover the terrible truth…
You’ve been hacked!
A garish image stares back at you from your homepage. The hacker mocks you and says he now “owns” your site. A loud, heavy metal soundtrack plays, and you can’t leave the page without closing your Internet browser.
It gets worse…
You check out your other WordPress sites on that server. They’ve all been hacked, too. Worse still, Google has flagged your most lucrative site as an attack site and is warning potential visitors it may harm their computer. Your AdWords account has been permanently suspended for sending traffic to an attack site, and it’s only a matter of time before all your sites are “sandboxed”.
You now have an army of angry affiliates who are going to have to tell their list the launch is off. They won’t do business with you again, that’s for sure! Locked out of your sites, your reputation in tatters, you face ruin. You hope against hope this is all a nightmare and you’re going to wake up soon, but it’s all too real.
This scenario is fiction, but the most scary thing of all is…
It could easily happen to you! Today, tomorrow, this weekend, any time. Sometime when you least expect it. The worst possible time.
These days putting in adequate security for your WordPress site is a must – otherwise it’s a question of when not if your site gets hacked.
If your site has been hacked, hiring an expert to get it back can be a very costly business – unless you follow the simple steps in this course.

In my 25 years online, I have had many run ins with the bad boys/girls of the world from having two business bank accounts hit with fraudulent withdrawals to having one of my websites hacked so badly I simply deleted it (thankfully it was one that was not making me any money so I did not lose anything except almost losing my hosting acct).
